Advanced Life Support Level 2 (ALS2) is an accredited course by the Australian Resuscitation Council, designed to help healthcare professionals develop advanced skills in managing deteriorating patients and cardiac arrest. It focuses on developing leadership and teamwork skills in high-pressure medical emergencies. This intensive two-day course is ideal for doctors, nurses working in critical care areas, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals involved in resuscitation or emergency medical teams.
Participants will be trained in advanced resuscitation techniques and will complete a pre-course multiple choice question paper for preparation. The course also teaches how to manage life-threatening arrhythmias, care for deteriorating patients, and provide post-resuscitation care. Emphasis is also placed on structured communication and leadership in emergencies.
Prerequisites:
Prior knowledge and competence in CPR
Healthcare professionals involved in critical care (e.g., ED, ICU, CCU, HDU, emergency teams)

This advanced course is RACGP accredited and provides 23.5 CPD hours (13.5 hours of educational activities and 10 hours of reviewing performance). ALS2 is specifically designed for healthcare professionals expected to manage or teach resuscitation skills in clinical settings.
